Centeio Earns Third Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Fresh off a conference road win, James Madison quarterback Todd Centeio was voted Sun Belt Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is Centeio's third Sun Belt weekly honor, as he also won the award on Sept. 26 and Oct. 10.

Centeio led JMU to a dominant 37-3 victory at Old Dominion and was named MVP of the 72nd annual Oyster Bowl this past Saturday. He was 18-of-21 for 306 yards while rushing for 12 yards and a touchdown. Centeio opened the game completing his first 11 passes, as JMU built a 17-0 first-half lead. It was his third 300-yard passing game in his last four outings.

The win was JMU's first over ODU and clinched a winning season in the program's first year competing at the FBS level.

Centeio and the Dukes return home this Saturday, Nov. 19 when they host Georgia State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium and will be streamed on ESPN+.
