NEW ORLEANS, La. – James Madison quarterback Todd Centeio was named one of eight Manning Stars of the Week for the third time this season, the Allstate Sugar Bowl announced on Monday.
He was previously honored following JMU's wins against Middle Tennessee in the opener and its road triumph at Arkansas State in October.
This past Saturday, Centeio helped lead JMU to a furious comeback, as the Dukes overcame a 20-point halftime deficit to beat Georgia State, 42-40, in Harrisonburg.
Centeio, who completed his first 15 passes of the game, finished 21-of-27 for 274 passing yards and four touchdowns. He added 12 rushing yards to finish with 288 total. His 77.8% completion percentage was his second highest of the season, and he threw for at least four touchdowns for the third time in 2022.
College football fans can go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl's Facebook page to vote for their best performance to determine the top FBS quarterback from week 12. The winner will be announced Wednesday.
JMU closes the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 26 when it hosts #23 Coastal Carolina. Kickoff at Bridgeforth Stadium is set for noon and will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
