Dukes Selected to Finish First in the Conference in Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, Va. – The James Madison softball program has been selected to win the conference regular season, as announced on Tuesday.

The Dukes are coming off of their record breaking Women's College World Series Run and having won the conference title five times since 2012.

JMU received six first place votes, and is followed by Delaware, predicted to finish second and Elon in third, each having received one first place vote.

Last season saw the Dukes finish with a 41-4 season record and a 17-1 conference record, losing to Elon 4-5 in the middle of the season.

The Dukes are holding a full conference schedule and are set to open the season at the Charlotte Invitational against UConn on February 19.
