Twenty-one named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Twenty-one James Madison field hockey student-athletes have been honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as members of the 2021 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, the organization announced Tuesday.

The group consisted of: Mikenna Allen, Sarah Beers, Caroline Cahill, Zoe Campisi, Katie Fricke, Samantha Grimes, Emily Harrison, Brandelynn Heinbaugh, Mia Julian, Aubrey Scott King, Kenzie Lever, Courtney Lynch, Florien Marcussen, Taryn Mayer, Kara McClure, Morgan Merritt, Diede Remijnse, Cassidy Strittmatter, Carissa Tambroni, Rachel Yeager and Eveline Zwager.

The National Academic Squad features student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year. Over 1,370 student-athletes from 80 Division I institutions were honored.
This is the largest group of athletes JMU has had selected to the National Academic Squad, with the previous record being 15 student-athletes in 2021.
