HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison baseball took a two-run lead into the eighth inning, but a late push by Maryland allowed the Terps to squeak by, 8-7, on Wednesday night at Veterans Memorial Park.

, while the Terps move to 26-7.

CJ Czerwinski started for the Dukes and went 2.1 innings with a strikeout. Classmate
Mason Dunaway was the leader at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

How It Happened
A three-run second inning for JMU got the scoring started in the game, as redshirt junior
Carson Bell was hit by a pitch, stole second, and then scored on Dunaway's single to right field. Dunaway then scored in the next at bat as freshman
Jason Schiavone hit a towering home run over the left field wall to give JMU a 3-0 lead.

Maryland responded with a pair of runs in the top of the third, but the Dukes took those two runs back as redshirt junior
Travis Reifsnider doubled in a run and then scored on a fielder's choice to make the score 5-2. The Terps then tied the game with three runs in the top of the fourth, but JMU retook the lead in the home half of the inning. Dunaway singled into left field and advanced to second on a fielding error before stealing third and coming home on a throwing error for a 6-5 lead.

The Dukes tossed another run on the board as redshirt junior
Trevon Dabney was hit by a pitch for the 19
th time this season and then stole second. He then scored all the way from second on a wild pitch that went to the backstop that the Maryland catcher lost.

The Terps were able to tie the game at seven on a two-run single in the eighth inning before hitting a go ahead home run in the top of the ninth to take their first lead of the game at 8-7. David Falco worked a perfect ninth for his first win of the year.
