HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison quarterback Jordan McCloud was voted Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row by the league's media.
Â
This honor comes following a record-breaking performance in JMU's 44-6 win against UConn on Nov. 11.
Â
McCloud threw for a career-high and Bridgeforth Stadium-record 457 yards and four touchdowns in the win. His passing yards total was also the second-most by a JMU quarterback in a game, and his 453 yards of total offense also set the venue record.
Â
The signal caller completed a career-best 89.2% of his passes going 33-of-37. His 33 completions were just one shy of tying the JMU single-game record. McCloud had a pair of touchdown passes over 50 yards, including a career-long 80.
Â
This was the third straight game McCloud has tallied at least four total touchdowns and his third straight game over 300 passing yards.
Â
This is JMU's sixth weekly Sun Belt award and the second Offensive Player of the Week in 2023. The Dukes also took home Special Teams Player of the Week three times and Defensive Player of the Week once.
Â
#18 JMU hosts App State on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Bridgeforth Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+. The Dukes will also host ESPN College GameDay for the third time in school history on the Quad that morning.
