JMU WELCOMES TOLEDO
- James Madison remains at home to host the Toledo Rockets out of the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 8. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center and will stream on ESPN+.
- The contest will serve as the first meeting between the Dukes and the Rockets and the tenth for JMU against a MAC opponent. Additionally, the contest opens up the MAC-SBC Challenge for the 2023-24 season.
- The Dukes are 7-2 all-time versus the Mid-American Conference and own perfect records against Eastern Michigan (2-0), Ohio (2-0), Western Michigan (2-0) and Kent State (1-0). Meanwhile, Buffalo boasts a 2-0 record versus JMU.
- The most recent member of the Mid-American Conference that the Dukes squared off against is Eastern Michigan, which JMU defeated 78-43 in Philadelphia during the Hawk Classic on Dec. 20, 2022.
- Against the Eagles, Kseniia Kozlova scored a career-high 18 points on an efficient 9-of-11 (.818) from the floor. Classmate Jamia Hazell finished with 12 points, while Caroline Germond dished out six assists, recorded five points, and nabbed a steal.
- Toledo went 29-5 (16-2 MAC) a season ago and won the league's regular season and conference tournament title on its way to an NCAA Second Round appearance as a No. 12 seed, knocking off No. 5 seed Iowa State, 80-73, on March 18.
MAC-SBC CHALLENGE
- The Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Sun Belt Conference (SBC) finalized matchups for the first-ever MAC-SBC Challenge, the leagues announced on June 22.
- The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance in the sports of men's and women's basketball that will kick off during the opening week of the 2023-24 season with 12 SBC men's basketball programs traveling to compete against the 12 MAC teams and the 12 Mid-American Conference women's basketball teams visiting 12 Sun Belt programs.
- The second MAC-SBC Challenge matchup for each team will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, with the matchups set based on real-time NET rankings and announced in January. The MAC women and Sun Belt men will host the February matchups.

- Following the Dukes' two home games to open the 2023-24 campaign, the team will head to Cincinnati to face BIG East foe Xavier on Saturday, Nov. 11. Tipoff inside the Cintas Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will stream on FloHoops.
