NEW HAVEN, Conn. – James Madison senior defensive end Jalen Green was voted to the nation's oldest college football All-America Team, as he was named a Walter Camp First Team All-American, as announced Friday night by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
This is the third All-America nod for Green, who previously was named a First Team All-American by College Football Network and a Second Team honoree by CBS Sports/247 Sports.
Green, the CFN National Player, Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman of the Year, Green leads the nation in sacks per game (1.72) and tackles for loss per game (2.3).
Voted the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year, he broke the Sun Belt Conference's single-season sacks record in just nine games. He tallied 50 total tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one pick-six and a pass breakup.
Additionally, Green is a finalist for both the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award and the Bill Dudley Award.
Green was one of three Sun Belt players to be named First Team All-American by Walter Camp, as he was joined by Old Dominion's Jason Henderson and Marshall's Jayden Harrison. The trio were the only players outside the power five to make this All-America squad.
