JMU Football Signs Rykin Maxwell to National Letter of Intent

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Head Coach Curt Cignetti announced the signing of wide receiver Rykin Maxwell to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday as part of the NCAA Division I's regular signing period.
Maxwell, a wide receiver from Charlotte, N.C., becomes the 20th high school senior to sign a National Letter of Intent as part of the 2023 recruiting class.
Named 2022 MVP and Offensive MVP at North Mecklenburg
Named to 2022 Charlotte Observer All-Star Team
Played for the West Team at the Queen City Senior Bowl
Dual-sport athlete who is a jumper and sprinter for the track & field team
Adding in JMU's 10 mid-year transfers, the program's 30 total newcomers for the 2023 season now consist of eight wide receivers, four tight ends and defensive linemen, three offensive linemen, two quarterbacks, running backs and safeties and a linebacker, cornerback, safety, punter and long snapper.
The group hails from 13 different states, led by five signees from Pennsylvania. Four are from Virginia, Maryland and South Carolina, three call North Carolina home and two are from either Florida or Georgia. The class is rounded out by one each from West Virginia, Delaware, New York, Texas, Minnesota and Alabama.
