THE DUKES
- James Madison will wrap up the weekend with a meeting against Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 18. Tip time is set for 2 p.m. and will stream on ESPN3.
- Last time out, senior Kiki Jefferson (20 points, 12 rebounds) and junior Kseniia Kozlova (15 points, 14 rebounds) registered double-doubles to push the Dukes past Texas State, 58-54, on Feb. 16 inside Strahan Arena.
- For the program, it was the first time two players scored double-doubles on the same night since Jefferson (19 points, 10 rebounds) and former Duke Jaylin Carodine (10 points, 15 rebounds) did so in a 79-70 loss to Towson, Jan. 16 last season.
- James Madison held the Bobcats to 29.7% (19-of-64) from the field, the best field goal defense by the Dukes in Sun Belt play.
- JMU ranks in the top 20 nationally in four categories: defensive rebounds per game (14th - 30.0), rebound margin (15th - +8.3), rebounds per game (15th - 42.89), and field goal percentage defense (16th - 35.5).
- The Dukes boasts seven top-three Sun Belt Conference marks: opponent field goal percentage (1st - 35.5), rebound margin (1st - +8.3), combined opponent rebounds (2nd - 34.6), team defensive rebounds (2nd - 30.0), scoring margin (3rd - +9.2), opponent three-point percentage (3rd - 28.3), and combined team rebounds (3rd - 42.9),.
- Jefferson is second in the NCAA in free throws attempted (210) and third in free throws made (166). Additionally, she is second in the SBC in both points per game (18.3) and rebounds per game (8.4). Moreover, her 494 points this season are good for 22nd in the nation.
- Graduate student Caroline Germond is 16th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.51, while junior Peyton McDaniel is tied for 43rd in the country in three-point percentage at 39.9, connecting on 59-of-148 from deep.
SCOUTING THE MONARCHS
- Old Dominion sits at 19-9 overall with an 11-4 mark in Sun Belt play, having won its last six games. Most recently, the Monarchs earned a home win over App State, 71-65, on Feb. 16.
- Down 45-44 heading into the fourth quarter, ODU scored 27 points in the final quarter to top the Mountaineers. Breanna Jackson (19 points), Amari Young (14 points), and Kaye Clark (12 points) all scored in double figures in the win.
- ODU boasts four top-50 marks in the nation: turnovers forced per game (27th - 20.00), turnover margin (38th - +4.07), steals per game (43rd - 9.9), and offensive rebounds per game (44th - 13.9).
- Clark is 16th in the NCAA in total steals (72) and tied for 33rd in steals per game (2.57). Meanwhile, Young ranks fifth in the Sun Belt in rebounding with 8.2 boards per outing.
SERIES HISTORY
- Old Dominion holds the lead in the all-time series against James Madison, 26-53. Saturday's game will be the 80th meeting between the two schools, with the Monarch's being the third-most frequently played opponent in JMU history behind William & Mary (93) and Richmond (91).
- The Dukes have won the last six meetings, dating back to Feb. 6, 2011.
- Moreover, JMU has come out on top in eight of its last 10 contests against the Monarchs.
