NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – James Madison lacrosse was recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) as an Academic Honor Squad, while a record nine Dukes earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Elise Fiannaca and juniors
Maggie Clark,
Katelyn Morgan and
Carolyn Thistlewaite. Previously, the JMU record for honorees was five, set last season.

The IWLCA honored 941 student-athletes from 96 different institutions on the 2023 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

The Dukes wrapped up another strong season with their eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance with a 19-3 record. The coaching staff was named the 2023 IWLCA South Region Coaching Staff of the Year, guiding the team to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Lacrosse finished No. 6 in the final ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll of the 2023 season, while attacker
Isabella Peterson was a Tewaaraton Award finalist.
