Alexandra Blom has been named to the Women's Hermann Trophy Watch List, presented by the Missouri Athletic Club, United Soccer Coaches announced on Thursday afternoon.

Blom is one of 56 Division I women's soccer student-athletes named to the initial list and is the fifth Duke in program history to be named to the watch list. She is the first JMU student-athlete since Teresa Rynier in 2010.

The Sun Belt Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year is coming off a tremendous 2022 season. Spending 1,641:52 in goal, she allowed only 11 goals for a single-season program record 0.60 goals against average. Adding 71 saves for a 0.866 save percentage, she recorded nine solo shutouts for the second most in a season at JMU. For her efforts last season, she earned Sun Belt Goalkeeper of the Year honors in addition to earning All-Region and All-Sun Belt First Team laurels.

Blom and the Dukes get set to kick off their season tonight, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. against Charlotte at Sentara Park.
