Former Running Back Percy Agyei-Obese Signs with CFL’s BC Lions

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Former James Madison running back Percy Agyei-Obese has inked his first professional contract, signing this week with the BC Lions out of the Canadian Football League, the franchise announced.
Agyei-Obese was a standout for the Dukes from 2017 until 2022, ranking as one of the program's top running backs of all time.
He finished his career ranking second in both rushing touchdowns (39) and rush attempts (694), third in both rushing yards (3,503) and total touchdowns (39) and fourth in scoring (234).
Agyei-Obese was a 2020 Stats Perform Walter Payton Award finalist, finishing 11th in the final voting. He was also a Stats Perform FCS First Team All-American and an Associated Press Second Team All-American after rushing for 717 yards and eight touchdowns during that CoVID spring season. In 2019, he was a HERO Sports Third Team All-American after turning in 1,216 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns, both single-season career highs.
The Frederick, Md., native capped off his career in 2022 running for 908 yards and eight scores and was voted Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference in JMU's inaugural season in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
