Tyson Thomas rolled out the women's tennis program's spring dual-match schedule, which is comprised of 21 matches with 10 at home.
JMU will face off against seven ITA Atlantic Region teams while taking on 11 of 13 Sun Belt Conference peers. During league play, the Dukes will host six while traveling to five.
The spring slate gets underway on Jan. 18 with a trip to Charlottesville to take on Virginia. That weekend, on Jan. 20 and 21, the Dukes head to DeKalb, Ill., for matchups against Wisconsin and host Northern Illinois.
JMU opens the home portion of its schedule on Jan. 27 when hosting Howard at East Campus Tennis Courts. The following weekend, the Dukes open the month of February in Lynchburg, taking on Missouri in a neutral-site bout on Feb. 3 and host Liberty on Feb. 4.
After a trip to Charlotte on Feb. 9, JMU opens a three-match homestand. The Dukes welcome Radford to town on Feb. 16 and then will have a 22-day layoff before their next match and conference opener. On March 9, JMU begins Sun Belt play against App State at Hillside Courts. The following day on March 10, JMU hosts Drake in a non-conference affair.
The Dukes hit the road for the first time in league action on March 16 and 17 with trips to Mobile, Ala., to face South Alabama and Hattiesburg, Miss., to battle Southern Miss. That next weekend, JMU is back home to host Louisiana on March 23 and Texas State on March 24.
The month concludes on the road over Easter weekend, as JMU travels to Jonesboro, Ark., to meet Arkansas State on March 30 and to Monroe, La., to face ULM the following morning.
April begins a four-match homestand, beginning with a date with in-state foe VCU on April 5. That next day, Sun Belt rival Old Dominion comes to town for a Royal Rivalry clash. The home schedule concludes April 13 and 14 when JMU hosts Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern, with the latter matchup being Senior Day.
The regular season closes on April 20 when JMU treks to Huntington, W.Va., to meet Marshall.
The 2024 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship will be held April 24-28 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga. The winner of the tournament receives the league's automatic berth into the 2024 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship.
