NEW ORLEANS– For the second straight week, James Madison women's soccer freshman
Ginny Lackey has been named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. It is the third straight week at least one Duke has grabbed a weekly conference award, and the fifth time this season overall.
The honor comes on the heels of another stellar week for the Dukes, who are riding a four-game win streak and have begun conference play 3-0. This past week, Lackey helped lead the Dukes to two wins against Coastal Carolina, 3-1, and rival Old Dominion, 3-2. Against Coastal Carolina, she netted a goal and had two assists while scoring a goal against ODU. Earlier today, Lackey was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week.
JMU returns to action on Oct. 4th when it travels to Monroe, La. for a road contest with ULM. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m ET, and will be streamed on ESPN+.
