Softball Signs Six Future Dukes For 2025-26 Season

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison softball has officially signed six student-athletes that make up its 2025 class, Head Coach Loren LaPorte announced Friday morning.
The Dukes' six signees, Lucy Bertram, Emma Jo Evans, Bradleigh 'BK' Lanier, Mia Tribul, Reaghan Warner, and Aynalem Zoet, will enroll and join the squad next fall.
This year's class hails from five different states (Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia) and is made up of three infielders, one outfielder and two utility players.
"Our 2025 recruiting class is a dynamic group of athletes who bring both versatility and athleticism to the field," said Coach LaPorte. "They have the ability to contribute in multiple positions, and their adaptability will add depth and energy to our program. We're excited to see how their talented skill sets elevate our team moving forward."
Lucy Bertram | UT | 5-7 | Raleigh, N.C. | Needham B. Broughton High School
- Cap 6 Conference Player of the Year (2024)
- Named first-team all-conference for three straight seasons (2022, 2023, 2024)
- Two-time softball team captain
- Mother Meredith Hickory was a coxswain on Boston College's crew team
Emma Jo Evans | INF | 5-5 | Belton, S.C. | Belton Honea Path High School
- Named 2024 Upstate and Region Player of the Year after batting .473 with 54 RBI.
- Set Belton Honea Path High School single-season home run record (13) in junior season and overall home run record (36).
- Kaleb Griffen State Farm Athlete of the Month during freshman season (2022)
- Three-time All-Regional and two-time All-State player
 Mia Tribul | INF | 5-6 | Beverly Hills, Mich. | St. Mary's Preparatory School
- A two-sport athlete at St. Mary's Preparatory School, lettering in both softball and basketball
- Held highest batting average on team for three straight seasons (2022, 2023,2024)
- Mother Raquel Tribul and father Matthew Tribul played Division I softball and basketball respectively at Canisius College        Â

Bradleigh 'BK' Lanier | RHP/UT | 5-6 | Opp, Ala. | Opp High School
- Alabama First Team All-State Second Baseman (2024)
- Won the Alabama 3A Softball State Championship in two consecutive seasons (2023, 2024)
- Father John Lanier played college football at the University of West Alabama
- Member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in health sciences on the pre-dentistry track
Reaghan Warner | OF | 5-5 | Harrisonburg, Va. | Turner Ashby High School
- As a sophomore, named Valley Co-Player and Hitter of the Year (2023)
- A two-sport athlete at Turner Ashby High School, lettering in both softball and volleyball
- Earned first-team All-District and Region twice in softball and first-team Valley All-District in volleyball
- Father Michael Warner played football at Shepherd University and brother, Cody Warner played baseball at the Virginia Military Institute
Aynalem Zoet | INF | 5-6 | Grandville, Mich. | Calvin Christian High School
- Earned All-Conference honors in both softball and volleyball at Calvin Christian High School
- Two-time varsity softball team captain for sophomore and junior seasons
- Was a softball district, region and all-state honorable mention for three consecutive seasons (2022, 2023, 2024)
- Held a .568 batting average with 11 home runs in 2024
