Trimble Tabbed to Preseason All-Sun Belt Team

NEW ORLEANS – James Madison junior outfielder Fenwick Trimble was tabbed to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

Following a vote of the league's 14 head coaches in the preseason poll, the Dukes were picked to finish 10^th in the Sun Belt as they received 79 points. Coastal Carolina was picked as the favorite to win the league, receiving 12 first-place votes and 193 points. Southern Miss and Troy rounded out the top three, with Louisiana coming in fourth and receiving the other two first-place votes.

Trimble is coming off a sophomore campaign that saw him start all 56 games. He finished the season with a slash line of .342/.452/.631 while posting a 1.083 OPS. He tallied 77 hits with two triples, 13 home runs and 22 doubles. The Virginia Beach, Va. native scored 63 runs while knocking in 52 runs. His efforts were compensated by being named an All-Sun Belt Second Team selection. His 22 doubles are tied for the sixth most in a single season at JMU and are the most since 2011. In addition, it was the 11^th 20-double season in program history.

During the preseason so far, Trimble has been named as one of the top prospects out of the Sun Belt for this year's MLB draft. Perfect Game has him ranked seventh while D1Baseball has him ranked ninth.
