HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison lacrosse is ranked No. 4 in the nation in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll, as announced on Monday morning.

The Dukes saw their six-game win streak end with an 11-8 loss to then-No. 9 Maryland in College Park on Sunday, March 10. A strong defensive stand from both teams made a close game for the first half with the score tied at 5 entering halftime, but Maryland used an offensive push in the second half to defeat then-No. 2 James Madison.Â

Northwestern (7-1), Boston College (8-1), Maryland (6-1) and Loyola (6-0) round out the top five of the latest poll.Â
JMU is now 6-1 on the season entering conference play. The Dukes currently hold the best record in the American Athletic Conference, with Florida (5-2) trailing close behind.Â

The Dukes are ranked No. 6 in the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20.
The No. 4 ranked Dukes return home on Saturday, March 16 when they take on in-conference foe East Carolina at noon.
