SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -
Daniel Cheng placed eighth to lead James Madison men's golf to a fourth-place team finish at the 2024 Ross Collegiate Classic, hosted at the Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club and its par-72, 6,657-yard layout.
The Dukes were 14 strokes behind the champion, Loyola Maryland, and placed fourth in a field of 16 teams.Â

Cheng finished with a three-round score of 212 (-4), just three strokes off the lead in the 99-player field. After a first-round 77 (+5), he bounced back with consecutive sub-70 rounds, carding a five-under 67 and three-under 69. Cheng finished the tournament with 14 birdies which was the second most.

Owen Kose placed inside the top 20, as the sophomore managed a three-round aggregate of 218 (+2).
Nick Schlickenrieder tied for 34th, as the graduate student finished with a total score of 221 (+5).

Vaclav Tichy (222) and
Alexandre D'Aurelle de Paladines (223) rounded out the JMU contingent in North Carolina, as Tichy tied for 38th and D'Aurelle managed a tie for 45th. D'Aurelle's second-round 69 (-3) was the second-best for any Dukes' player throughout the two-day tournament.

Siggi Blumenstein played as an individual and shot consistently (72-73-72=217). He recorded two eagles, which led the field, landing him tied for 16
th.
