IRVING, Texas – Seven James Madison student-athletes were recognized as members of the 2024 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, as announced Wednesday by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame.
Of the seven honored, five played for the Dukes last season while two more were standouts at Holy Cross before transferring to JMU in January.
For Dobbs, he was also previously honored as a member of the 2023 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class.
To be honored, senior or graduated players across all divisions must possess a cumulative 3.2 grade-point average throughout their collegiate careers. This year, a record 1,988 players from 339 schools qualified for membership.
This is the fourth time since 2016 that JMU has had five players from a previous season honored by the NFF, and adding in the pair of transfers, the seven is the most awardees for JMU in a single academic year.
