JMU Softball Announces 2024 Fall Schedule

HARRISONBURG, Va.- The James Madison softball team will have seven fall exhibitions against regional opponents that make up its 2024 fall schedule, Head Coach Loren LaPorte announced Tuesday morning.Â

JMU will begin the slate of games on Sept. 14 as the Dukes play host to Walters St. with a scheduled first pitch time of 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. JMU will take its only road trip of the fall the following week, as the team will travel north to face George Mason in Fairfax on Sept. 20 at 5 p.m.Â

The Dukes will then host an afternoon doubleheader at home on Sept. 29 with games scheduled at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. against Bridgewater and Mary Baldwin.

Liberty and Radford will also make an appearance at Veterans Memorial Park on Oct. 4 and 5 with start times of 6 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectfully.

The Dukes will round out its fall schedule on Oct. 13 with a noon contest against Frostburg St.Â

JMU went 31-22 (12-12) during the 2024 campaign, along with accumulating a variety of Sun Belt Conference awards. This included three First Team All-Sun Belt selections in Bella Henzler and Reed Butler with Payton List being tabbed the SBC Freshman of the Year, while also taking home a first team selection.

The Dukes also added seven freshman student-athletes that make up the 2024 signing class. Madalyn Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Emily LeGrand, Cali Legzdin, Kira Ortega, Lili Smith and Raegan Wall joined the squad this fall.
