LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Senior
Václav Tichý tied for 11th to lead the James Madison men's golf team at the Everett Buick Classic on Tuesday afternoon.
Tichý finished with 54-hole score of 211 (-5), which was highlighted by a seven-under 65 in his second round on the par-72, 7,115-yard Chenal Country Club. Through 12 rounds this fall, the senior owns a stroke average of 70.33.
Sophomore
René Bergendi notched his third career top 25 finish with a tie for 25
th in a field of 88 with a three-round tally of 214 (-2). Bergendi opened with a 69 (-3) in the first round before managing rounds of 73 (+1) and even-par 72.
Michael Hake continued his solid fall with a tie for 30th, grossing a 54-hole score of 215 (-1) with rounds of 72-70-73.
As a team, JMU finished seventh out of 16 teams with a gross score of six-under 858. Host Little Rock took home the team title with a three-round score of 830 (-34), 21 strokes ahead of UAB.
Freshman
Ethan Anderson tied for 60th at 223 (+7), carding rounds of 75-73-75.
Jonas DeLeon (70-80-76) closed out the JMU lineup with a tie for 71st at 226 (+10).
The Dukes close out their fall portion of the 2025-26 schedule at the Furman Intercollegiate Oct. 18-19.
