NEW ORLEANS – James Madison outside hitter
Kennedy Louisell earned her third straight Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honor, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning.

Louisell is the first James Madison player to win three straight weekly awards since the Dukes joined the Sun Belt in 2022. She now has four Offensive Player of the Week honors this season.

Against Marshall, Louisell tied for the Sun Belt lead with 40 kills and led the conference with 5.71 kills per set. She hit .443 (40-9-70) as JMU earned two wins over the Thundering Herd, improving to 12-6 and 5-1 in conference. Â

As of Monday, Oct. 13, Louisell leads the NCAA with 371 kills and is second with 5.38 kills per set. She has nine matches with 20 or more kills and is hitting .358, sixth in the Sun Belt and second among outside hitters.

During Thursday's sweep, Louisell tallied 17 kills with a .484 hitting percentage (17-2-31) while also adding eight digs and four blocks. On Friday, she recorded 23 kills and hit .410 (23-7-39) in the four-set win over Marshall.

 Louisell and the Dukes are set to face off with Sun Belt East leaders Coastal Carolina Oct. 17-18 in Conway, S.C. Both matches will stream on ESPN+.
