HARRISONBURG, Va. – Five James Madison women's soccer student athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Division I Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Seniors
Kat Cassidy and
Jordan Yang, redshirt sophomore
Jeanette Fieldsend, and sophomores
Emily Graeca and
Ginny Lackey earned All-District honors, with Lackey being elevated to the All-American ballot.
Those earning all-district honors required a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 without rounding up and must've either started in 66% or competed in 90% of all matches.
Cassidy is majoring in marketing. The midfielder played all 19 matches for the Dukes, starting 15. Cassidy found the starting lineup in 13 straight matches down the stretch, starting every Sun Belt contest of the 2025 season. The Virginia native played a career-high 101 minutes against Texas State in the SBC Quarterfinals.
Yang, an integrated science and technology major, earns her second all-district recognition of her career. After earning preseason All-SBC honors, Yang started all 19 of JMU's matches, contributing a goal and three assists for five total points. An anchor on James Madison's backline, the senior helped to force five shutouts to earn a spot on the Sun Belt's All-Conference Second Team.
Fieldsend is majoring in social work. The redshirt sophomore appeared in 19 matches and logged 17 starts. An offensive spark, the North Carolina native contributed three goals and five assists for 11 total points. Fieldsend logged a career high two assists against Marshall, and earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt Second Team.
Graeca, an elementary education major, earns all-district recognition in her first season as a Duke. The Pitt transfer played all 19 matches, starting 15. The sophomore defender helped the JMU backline pitch five clean sheets, appearing in the starting lineup in all five.
Lackey, a kinesiology major, adds academic all-district to a laundry list of recognitions this season. The forward started all 19 matches, scoring 11 goals and six assists for 28 points on the season. Lackey tallied three multi-goal matches, including the first JMU hat trick since 2012, and finished the season as the Sun Belt's Offensive Player of the Year. After scoring 34 points as a freshman, the Bolton, Manchester native became the first SBC player to register back-to-back 25+ point seasons since 2014-15.
