West, Chesney Win ECAC Major Awards, Five Named All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – James Madison defensive end Sahir West was named ECAC Defensive Rookie of the Year and Head Coach Bob Chesney was tabbed Coach of the Year while five student-athletes were named All-ECAC, as announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
West is JMU's first player ever to garner an ECAC's rookie honor, while Chesney is the program's second ECAC Coach of the Year.
JMU has now won nine ECAC major awards all-time, dsting back to 2008.
Joining West on the 2025 All-ECAC Team were running back Wayne Knight, right tackle Pat McMurtrie, linebacker Trent Hendrick and cornerback Justin Eaglin.
McMurtrie is a repeat honoree in 2025, while the other four are first-time awardees by the ECAC.
