NEW ORLEANS – For the second time this season,
Peyton McDaniel of James Madison women's basketball has been tabbed as the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

McDaniel was honored for the seventh time in her career, earning the award after averaging 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game at the Daytona Beach Classic, helping lead the Dukes to victories over Boston College (73-53 – Nov. 28) and Wisconsin (69-50 – Nov. 29) to be named to the All-Tournament First Team.

The guard opened the tournament with 19 points on 8-of-11 (.727) from the field and grabbed seven rebounds against the Eagles. Then versus the Badgers, McDaniel scored 28 points, connecting on 10-of-21 (.476) from the field and 5-of-11 (.455) from three.

McDaniel's performances this past weekend places her fifth in scoring in JMU history (1,852) and seventh in rebounds (828).
