HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison enters the postseason ranked #24 in the College Football Playoff rankings while sitting strong at #19 in both the AP Top 25 and two in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Dukes won their 11th straight game and ran their record to 12-1 with a 31-14 victory over Troy in the Sun Belt Football Championship.
Following the conference championships, JMU was ranked as the fifth-highest conference champion, coming in at #24 in the final CFP rankings to earn the No. 12 seed in the 12-team field.
JMU becomes the first Sun Belt Conference team ever to qualify for the College Football Playoff, and opens the bracket on Saturday, Dec. 20 at No. 5 Oregon. Kickoff from Autzen Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. and will be nationally televised on TNT, truTV and HBO Max.
