Dukes Set to Prepare for 2026 with Schedule Unveil

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison baseball has unveiled its 2026 schedule on Monday afternoon, as announced by Head Coach Marlin Ikenberry.

"This year's schedule mimics last year's when it comes to quality opponents," said Ikenberry. "Our early season schedule will prepare us for Sun Belt play."

The Dukes will take on 54 games in the new season, with 26 being in the friendly confines of Veterans Memorial Park. Four of the opponents JMU will face made the NCAA tournament last year, with three hosting regionals.

JMU is set to begin its season for the fourth time in five seasons at Florida State, with opening weekend Feb. 13-14. After playing at Richmond (Feb. 18) for the first midweek contest of the year, the Dukes will take Eagle Field for the first time in 2026 with a three-game series against Le Moyne (Feb. 20-22).

Richmond will return the trip to JMU later in the season on April 14, one of five home-and-homes on the slate. The Dukes will also play Virginia Tech (home: Feb. 24; away: April 28), George Mason (home: March 3; April 21), Radford (home: March 24; away: March 10) and George Washington (home: March 18; away: May 5). There will be two more midweek games for the Dukes, both on the road at Georgetown on March 31 and Virginia on April 7.

After facing Le Moyne on the second weekend of the season, the Dukes will play two more non-conference weekends. They'll travel to Greenville, S.C. for a tournament that will feature College of Charleston (Feb. 27), Albany (Feb. 28) and Michigan State (March 1), prior to welcoming ETSU to Harrisonburg on March 6-8.

Sun Belt Conference action for the Dukes will begin at home on March 13-15 when Georgia Southern comes to town. The Dukes will also host Louisiana (April 2-4), App State (April 17-19), Marshall (May 1-3) and Southern Miss (May 8-10).

The first road series in league play will be on March 20-22, as JMU travels to the national finalist and Sun Belt champion Coastal Carolina. It'll travel as well for league action to play Arkansas State (March 27-29), Georgia State (April 10-12), ULM (April 24-26) and Old Dominion (May 14-16).
