HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison and Old Dominion went seven scoreless innings after the fourth inning before ODU took a lead in the 12
th to slip by the Dukes, 6-4, on Friday night at Veterans Memorial Park in Sun Belt Conference baseball.

The Dukes fell to 15-35 (8-17 SBC) while the Monarchs improved to 19-26 (13-12 SBC).

Senior
Coleman Calabrese led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a run, an RBI and two walks. On the mound, junior
Max Kuhle started and went five innings with seven strikeouts, surrendering four runs (two earned).

How It Happened
First Inning
The Dukes scored a pair of runs for the first runs of the game, as sophomore
Kyle Langley led off by reaching on an error and moving to second. A pair of singles from senior
Coleman Calabrese knocked Langley in and two batters later, Calabrese was plated by freshman
Reece Moody.

Third Inning
ODU used a solo homer from Kainen Jorge to get on the board and make it 2-1.

Fourth Inning
A leadoff homer from TJ Aikens tied the game at two for ODU. A wild throw on an attempted pickoff plated two unearned runs later in the inning to give the Monarchs a 4-2.

JMU responded by tying the game on one swing, as junior
Wyatt Peifer and Moody led off with singles to set up junior
Jack Cannizzaro to score both on a double and make it 4-4.

12th Inning
With two outs, the Monarchs drew a four-pitch walk and then an intentional walk to set themselves up for Luke Waters to hit a double to score both runners and take a 6-4 lead.

Game Notes
- At four hours and 10 minutes and 12 innings, the game was JMU's longest of the season in both time and innings.
- A total of 26 runners were left on base with 14 by ODU and 12 by JMU.
- Max Kuhle has thrown at least seven strikeouts in three of his last five appearances.
