James Madison Athletics Announces its Full Promotional Schedule for the 2025 Football Season

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Athletics announced its full promotional schedule for the 2025 Football season.

JMU hosts a strong home schedule, highlighted by visits from Washington State, App State and 2024 Sun Belt West champion Louisiana.

The promotional slate kicks off on Aug. 30, as JMU welcomes Weber State back to Harrisonburg for the home opener. The Dukes are 3-0 all-time against the Wildcats, with two FCS playoff victories in 2017 and 2019. Beat the summer heat with Beach Day at Bridgeforth! Early arriving students can grab a special JMU beach hat, courtesy of Campus View, and students are encouraged to stay cool in the Splash Zone (Section 120)! The popular ticket promotion Community Day returns, and local fans can take advantage of discounted tickets at JMUSports.com/Community.

After trips to Louisville and Liberty, the Dukes return home for Family Weekend against Georgia Southern. Visit the Family Weekend info page to learn more about tickets and events that weekend!

Get ready to Brighten the Lights of Madison on Oct. 11 as Louisiana comes to town for the white out! JMU Kids Club members are welcomed for the annual Puppy Pound game and pregame Puppy Run, presented by Chick-fil-A Harrisonburg. JMU Faculty and Staff are welcome to claim two (2) free tickets to the Faculty & Staff Appreciation game, presented by CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union. Ticket links will be shared directly with impacted groups closer to game day.

The Dukes are back on Oct. 18 for Homecoming against ODU. Homecoming will be the third consecutive game in 2025 with a general admission student section pompom giveaway, as Family Weekend and Homecoming feature purple and gold sparkle pompoms and the Brighten the Lights of Madison game brings back the impactful white pompoms.

After nearly a month away from home, the Dukes return to Bridgeforth Stadium on Nov. 15 to take on App State. Join us for Heroes Day as we honor our nation's heroes both at home and abroad. Grab a personal American Flag at the marketing table, courtesy of JMU Valor.

Senior Day is scheduled for the final home game of the season on Nov. 22 against Washington State. Arrive early for a special recognition of our graduating student-athletes and stick around for an in-game recognition of the 1975 undefeated JMU Football team, hosting their 50-year reunion over Letterwinner Weekend!

Galvanized by the power of the Marching Royal Dukes, we have extracted lyrics from the JMU Fight Song and the legendary Start Wearing Purple to help direct fans on color rush games. In an effort to exalt an already excellent game day experience, three lyric excerpts have been identified to aid fans in picking their game day attire.

We are excited to recognize five outstanding JMU teams for their accomplishments with on-field recognitions. Three teams (Swim & Dive – Aug. 30, Women's Soccer – Oct. 11, and Lacrosse – Oct. 18) will be celebrated for their conference championships while Women's Basketball (Sept. 27) will be honored for their WBIT run. The 1975 undefeated JMU Football team returns to Bridgeforth for its 50-year anniversary at the Nov. 22 game vs. Washington State.

James Madison Athletics will continue cashless operations for all home athletics competitions. The cashless operations apply to stadium ticketing operations as well as all concessions, which are operated by campus dining vendor, JMU Dining, and stadium bookstore merchandise sales, which are managed by Follett.

Fans looking to make purchases at any JMU Athletics events will need to have a debit or credit card accessible. Concessions and Team Stores will accept all versions of mobile pay (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay). Reverse ATM's will not be offered at any venues, fans are encouraged to make sure they have a debit or credit card available prior to entry.
