HARRISONBURG, Va. – Junior outside hitter Kennedy Louisell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) finished with 17 kills to lead James Madison volleyball to a 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-20) sweep of Bellarmine on Friday evening inside the Convocation Center.
Louisell finished with an attacking percentage of .516 with just one error on 31 attempts. JMU (1-3) hit a season-best .312 as a team and held Bellarmine to a .132 hitting percentage, finishing with 9.0 blocks.
The freshmen tandem of Addie Norman (9) and Ana Toumazatos (7) combined for 16 kills. Defensively, Julia McNeley (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) tallied double-digit digs (15) for the third consecutive match, while Ayen Nhial led the Dukes with five blocks.
Bellarmine was led by Natalie Bland and Erika Smith, who finished with seven kills apiece.
