Napier Announces Full 61-Player Signing Class for 2026 Season

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Head Coach Billy Napier announced the completion of the 2026 football recruiting class, as 61 student-athletes have signed with the Dukes for the 2026 season.

The class was completed as part of Wednesday's February National Signing Day.

In total, 20 high school seniors signed aid agreements, with 16 coming back during the December signing period and four more on Tuesday morning for the February period. Of the 20, 10 enrolled at JMU in January and will participate in spring practice. JMU also signed 41 transfers to aid agreements across all three NCAA divisions.

For the transfers, seven come from Power Four conference programs, 11 of Group of Six programs, 12 out of the Football Bowl Subdivision, 10 from NCAA Division II and one from NCAA Division III.

The signing class is comprised of athletes from 23 states and three countries, including 10 from Florida, eight from Virginia, six from Georgia and three each out of Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

Offseason workouts are underway for JMU football, and spring practice will occur in March and April. Season ticket renewals for the 2026 season are also ongoing with a priority deadline of May 15. The full 2026 football schedule will be announced by the Sun Belt Conference later this spring.
