NEW ORLEANS –
Cliff Davis and
Justin McBride of James Madison men's basketball were both named Third Team All-Sun Belt on Tuesday afternoon as the conference office announced its 2025-26 Postseason Awards.
Â
Davis finished the season averaging 15.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, ranking second in the Sun Belt with 97 threes. Meanwhile, McBride led JMU with 15.5 points per game, adding 5.5 boards per outing, while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from deep.
Â
McBride led JMU in scoring for a majority of the season, finishing with 10 or more points in 21 games. The forward had 10 games with 20-plus points and a pair of 30-point games, making him just one of four JMU players since 2004-05 with multiple 30-point games in the same season.
 Â
Davis finished the regular season with 14 straight games in double figures, including seven 20-point games in that span. The guard from Thomasville, Ga., has made 97 threes this season, including six games with at least five treys.
Â
As of March 1, Davis sits third on the JMU single-season threes list, needing four to tie Kent Culuko's 101 in the 1993-94 season, which would also make him just the third Duke to record 100 or more threes in a season.
Â
The duo extends JMU's streak of multiple all-conference representatives to three straight seasons. Since the Dukes joined the Sun Belt in 2022-23, they have had eight selections to the league's all-conference teams.
Â
The Dukes begin their run at the 2026 Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Men's Basketball Championship Presented by Air Force Reserve on Wednesday, March 4, at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT) at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla. JMU will play the winner of game No. 1 between No. 12 seed Louisiana and No. 13 seed Georgia State, with the winner advancing to take on No. 8 seed Southern Miss.
