HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison field hockey rolled out its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season, as announced by Head Coach Alyssa Parker on Friday morning.
Â
The slate is comprised of 16 games, including seven against teams that were ranked in the final NFHCA National Coaches Poll, and five that competed in the 2025 NCAA Field Hockey Championship. The Dukes are set for nine contests against Mid-American Conference opponents and five games at the JMU Field Hockey Complex.
Â
For the second consecutive season, the Dukes will open the year at Maryland's Conference Cup, where they'll take on Temple (Aug. 28) and Drexel (Aug. 30). The Dragons are fresh off their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012 and brought on former Duke Cassidy Strittmatter ('25) as an assistant coach in the offseason.
Â
JMU begins its home slate with a Sunday tilt against Liberty on Sept. 6 before trekking to ACC opponents Duke (Sept. 11) and Virginia (Sept. 13) the following week. The Dukes open MAC play in Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State (Sept. 18), and will return to the Midwest to face Miami (Ohio) (Sept. 25), who won its eighth-straight Mid-American Conference Championship this past fall.
Â
From there, James Madison will return to Harrisonburg to host Kent State (Sept. 27). The Dukes will remain in the Commonwealth with contests at Longwood (Oct. 2) and William & Mary (Oct. 4). JMU then picks up conference play with four consecutive games against MAC foes: Bellarmine (Oct. 9), at Ohio (16), Central Michigan (Oct. 18), and App State (Oct. 23).
Â
After one final non-conference tilt at Wake Forest on Oct. 25, the Dukes will close the regular season in Amherst, Mass. to face Massachusetts. The Mid-American Conference Championship is set for Nov. 4-7 and will be hosted by the RedHawks in Oxford, Ohio.
