THE HAGUE, Netherlands –
Alice Roeper of James Madison field hockey inked a professional contract this week with Haagsche Delftsche Mixed (HDM) Dames 1, which competes in Tulp Hoofdklasse, the top division of field hockey in the Netherlands.
"I'm excited to take the next step in my career and see where this journey takes me," said Roeper. "I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped me get here!"
The two-time All-MAC First Team selection wrapped up her career with 84 points (33g, 18a), appearing in 66 games with 62 starts in Harrisonburg. Roeper was among the nation's best in offensive production, ranking 18th in career points per game at 1.26 among all active Division I players following the 2025 season.
In 2024, Roeper was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year after registering 15 goals and five assists for 35 points and leading the Dukes to a share of the league's regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament.
The Delft, Netherlands native graduated in the spring with a bachelor's degree in Media Arts and Design with a minor in Communications, and is currently studying Physiotherapy in her home country.
