Six Dukes Named to 2025-26 VaSID Academic All-State Team

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Each of the six student-athletes was a finalist for the 2025-26 JMU Casey Carter Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award and was also a member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.

The Dukes earning a spot on this year's team are women's soccer sophomore Ginny Lackey, men's tennis junior Harrison Lee, women's basketball redshirt senior Peyton McDaniel, women's tennis senior Daria Munteanu, football redshirt senior Morgan Suarez and men's golf senior Václav Tichý.

This is the second consecutive year McDaniel has earned the honor, while Tichý also took home the accolade a year ago.

Each of the six student-athletes was a finalist for the 2025-26 JMU Casey Carter Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award and was also a member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.

McDaniel and Tichý repeated as the department's Scholar-Athletes for the academic year.
