High school: Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star and Potomac News first team, all-area second team and all-district second team as a senior. Voted team's offensive Player of the Year as a senior. The Indians were state finalists 2000 and state semifinalists 1999 and 2001. Stafford was Northwest Region champion 2001 and Commonwealth District champion 2000 and 2001. Team won Sportsmanship Award at 2000 state tournament. Attended the U.S. Field Hockey Association's National Festival 2001. Also lettered in softball, basketball and swimming.

Personal: Chelsea Garfield. Dean's List student in biology and kinesiology with concentrations in exercise science and pre-med and a minor in nutrition. Her aunt, Anne Bilgihan, played field hockey for JMU from 1964-68.
