Thanks for your interest in James Madison University and the Women’s Cross Country and Distance program. We have a proud history of middle distance and distance runners at JMU. We have had NCAA Division I All Americans in both cross country and track. Our success can be contributed to having highly motivated, dedicated and talented student-athletes in our program.
James Madison University offers a great education and college experience while providing the opportunity for you to maximize your abilities as a middle-distance or distance runner. To be truly good at anything takes immense hard work, talent, dedication, commitment and some luck. Very few people have what it takes to be really good at something. Look around and you’ll see a lot of mediocrity. We're looking for a few women that realize that pushing themselves to be the best runners they can be not only can make them good runners, but will teach them lessons they can use in the future to be successful in life.
Our training program is based on years of experience and success. The mileage and workout schemes differ from athlete to athlete and are based on their training background, their event area and what they can handle. Each person is different and while the basic training philosophy stays the same we adjust the work to match the individual. At JMU you're an individual, not just another cog in the wheel.
Fill out a questionnaire and contact us, we’d love to hear from you!
