Internship, Practicum, and Student Worker Opportunities

We are looking for practicum and internship students to help with the JMU Track and Field and Cross Country program. We are looking students to assist with the distance, sprints, hurdles, throws, multis, and jumps groups for the fall and/or spring seasons.

Available Positions: Up to eight practicum and internship students needed per semester.

Hours: Flexible hours. Practice hours are generally 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. during the fall semester and 2:30-5:30 p.m. in the spring. Office hours during the day are also needed.

Here are the specific needs we are looking to fill for the fall and the spring These duties may be adjusted depending on students' strengths, class schedules, and coaches' needs:

Potential Duties:

Come to and assist coaches with practice 2-5 days per week
Help time workouts
Type workout results
Assist with recruiting duties at the office
Coordinate with athletic training staff and nutritionist and load vans with drinks and snacks daily
Assist Head Coach with training, recruiting, planning team-building activities
Travel to cross country/track meets
Assist with equipment (carrying and setting up tent, hurdles, etc.)
Help get mile splits at meets
Assist with other aspects of practice, such as prehab, training tidbit talks, etc.
Assist with filing, office paperwork, etc.
Drive one of the vans to off-campus practices (1-3 times per week)
Assist with Official Visits for recruits

*Will meet with individual interns / practicum students to solidify specific duties and hours.
