At JMU: Named JMU's tight ends coach before the 2007 season... Primary Recruiting Area: Pennsylvania... assistant with the Dukes' defensive line in 2006 after playing at JMU from 2001-04 and working in 2005 as a student-assistant coach... also has worked extensively in the program's video areas... in 2009 coached Mike Caussin, who was third-team All-CAA and signed a free agent contract with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars... played a key role on JMU special teams during four seasons as the team's long snapper in kick situations, helping provide the Dukes' program with several of the Atlantic 10's top-performing special teams... first played for the Dukes as a true freshman in 2001 and was a member of their 2004 national championship squad.

Before JMU: Three-year starter at Staunton River High School... was a first-team all-district center and second-team all-region and all-area as a senior.

Personal: Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's in secondary education... married Nicole Roach, a Longwood graduate and an elementary school teacher, before the beginning of the 2009 season.
