Scott Smith arrived at JMU as head football equipment manager during the spring of 2018. He is responsible for the equipment needs of the football student-athletes and coaches.

Prior to coming to JMU, Smith was the assistant director of equipment operations at Montana State University. His primary duties involved working with the MSU football team as well as assisting with some of Montana State’s Olympics sports teams. In 2016, Smith worked as a seasonal equipment assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Prior to graduation in 2016, Scott was head student manager at Georgia Southern University, where he majored in general studies with a concentration in business and international relations.

A native of Statesboro, Ga., Scott currently resides in Harrisonburg. When not on campus, he enjoys hanging out with his wife, Allison, and their two pets, Jackson and Paulson.
