Jake Failla is in his first season with the James Madison football program in 2026, as he serves as Senior Director of Football & Video Operations.
Failla returns to his alma mater following a four-season stint at Florida (2022-25), where he held multiple roles on Billy Napier’s staff.
Most recently, Failla was assistant director of football video since 2022. In that position, he led a team of over 20 team filmers to deliver complete and accurate practice and game coverage. He enhanced real-time game analysis by managing on-field iPad distribution with Catapult Focus for instant review. He also oversaw the accuracy of PFF data for all NCAA and NFL games, supporting scouting and analysis.
Failla additionally troubleshot technical issues in football operations and meeting spaces in collaboration with the UF IT department.
He began his time at Florida in 2021 as a football video assistant, balancing responsibilities between coaches’ video and creative content production.
Prior to Florida, Failla spent over a year at Albany (2019-20) as head video coordinator and assistant director of operations & recruiting.
He began his career at JMU, where he worked with the football program for four seasons (2015-18). Failla was part of three conference titles and one FCS national championship.
During that time, he held roles of recruiting manager and team videographer for the 2017 and 2018 seasons and was a video, operations and logistics intern from 2015 through the spring of 2017.
Failla graduated from JMU with a bachelor’s degree in management with a general business minor.
