George Boulos is a highly accomplished sports performance coach with a dynamic background in basketball and football. In his current role, he oversees the comprehensive training programs for James Madison University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, as well as the golf programs. His leadership has been instrumental in guiding JMU Basketball through one of the most successful three-year stretches in program history, a period during which he worked with multiple coaching staffs and helped both programs achieve championship success.
Since Boulos joined JMU, the men’s basketball team has captured both a Sun Belt Tournament Championship and a regular season championship, while the women’s basketball team has also secured a Sun Belt Tournament Championship and two regular season titles. His impact on player development, preparation, and performance has been a driving force behind the programs’ sustained excellence.
Boulos began his career in sports performance at Duquesne University, where he worked closely with both the basketball and football programs. He later advanced his career to the University of Alabama, contributing to the development of elite athletes within the Crimson Tide football program.
His professional journey continued in New Jersey, where he played key roles on the performance staffs at Rutgers University and Seton Hall University, supporting the training efforts for both men’s and women’s basketball teams. He also served as an Assistant Performance Coach for Men's Basketball at the University of Notre Dame, further refining his skills at the highest collegiate level.
A proud Pittsburgh native and first-generation Lebanese American, Boulos was a football standout in Western Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Business Administration from Duquesne University before completing dual master’s degrees in Physiology and Sports Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
George now lives in Stephens City, Virginia with his wife Dana and their dog, Olive. His passion for athletic development and commitment to excellence continue to leave a lasting impact on the student-athletes he mentors.
