Jeff Small enters his first season with the women's basketball program in 2023-24.
Small arrives in Harrisonburg after spending the past five years as the head strength & conditioning coach at St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo, Ohio. There, he primarily worked with soccer, baseball, track & field, freshman football, lacrosse, crew, hockey, wrestling and freshman basketball.
Prior to his position at St. John's Jesuit, Small was a volunteer strength & conditioning coach at the University of Toledo from 2021-22. While with the Rockets, he helped instruct the men's and women's tennis teams, men's golf, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's swimming & diving and baseball.
Small received a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from Toledo in May 2022, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Human Performance from UCF in May 2017.
The Sylvania, Ohio native earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach certificates in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
