Shields began as the Assistant Director of Fan Engagement in February of 2026.
A 2025 graduate of James Madison University, Shields worked as a Fan Engagement Intern with JMU serving as a secondary point of contact for the JMU Men’s Soccer team as well as a primary point of contact for JMU Swimming and Diving during his time as a student.
Prior to the Assistant Director role, Shields served as a Fan Engagement Assistant for JMU and led the marketing and fan engagement efforts for multiple programs, including Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, and the JMU Puppy Pound kids club. He also led on-field and on-court efforts for Football and Women’s Basketball. Shields has previous professional experience within the sport industry with Ripken Baseball and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
