Everett Hume is in his first season with the James Madison football program in 2026, as he serves as Director of Sports Science.

Hume joined the Dukes after two seasons as a sport science fellow at Michigan (2024-25). In that role, he helped build proprietary athlete monitoring system, was responsible for building cloud storage computing solutions and the integration of API and SQL capabilities.

He also generated daily and weekly reports for coaches and performance staff from practices, training and games and helped monitor athlete rehabilitation.

A double graduate of Michigan, he also spent summers during his undergraduate studies in Las Vegas.

Hume spent the summer of 2023 at UNLV as an undergraduate student research assistant with sport science and biomechanics. There, he worked with multiple programs, developing dynamic dashboards and weekly reports.

In the summer of 2022, Hume was a sport science intern with the Ultimate Fighting Championship Performance Institute in Vegas.

Hume also spent the spring of 2022 as an undergraduate student research assistant with sport, data and movement science.
Â
He graduated magna cum laude from Michigan in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. Hume later graduated with a master’s in biomechanics & biotransport concentration from UM in 2024.
