Jacob LaFrance is in his first season with the James Madison football program, as he serves as the Associate A.D. for Football Personnel.
In this role, he oversees JMU’s recruiting and player personnel departments.
LaFrance joins Napier’s staff in Harrisonburg after serving under him in multiple capacities at Florida and Louisiana.
Most recently, LaFrance spent four seasons at Florida (2022-25), where he was general manager for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He also served as director of player personnel for the 2022 and 2023 campaigns.
The Baton Rouge, La., native joined UF after three seasons at Louisiana (2019-21), helping the Ragin’ Cajuns garner the Sun Belt’s top recruiting class in both 2019 and 2020.
Prior to Louisiana, LaFrance served in the same capacity at UTSA (2016-19). While with the Roadrunners, he oversaw prospect evaluation, roster management and assisted with NFL liaisons on visits and research, among other duties.
LaFrance spent two seasons as a recruiting analyst at Maryland (2014-15), where he oversaw day-to-day recruiting operations.
A 2012 LSU graduate, LaFrance was a personnel assistant with the Tigers from 2009-14. He played a key role in landing five top-10 recruiting classes during his time in Baton Rouge.
He is married to Krystle LaFrance and the couple haa a daughter, Parker Hayes.
