Ryan Fitzpatrick joined the JMU program ahead in July 2025, as he serves as the football video & technology coordinator.

In this role, Fitzpatrick oversees all video operations for football, including videotaping, editing, video exchange and video equipment both in and out of season. He implements research and manages new technologies related to the program, including Catapult, DVSport, C2P and IGV among others. Fitzpatrick also manages all technological inventory within the program.

Before coming to JMU, Fitzpatrick was football technology assistant at Auburn from June 2024 until his hiring with the Dukes. He was also assistant video manager with the UFL’s DC Defenders for a short stint in the spring of 2024.

While at SMU, Fitzpatrick was a video assistant and later a graduate assistant for coaches video from 2021-24. He additionally was involved with a SMU faculty-led consultancy project in the summer of 2022 with the Formula 1 French Grand Prix & International Olympic Committee.

A native of Gainesville, Fla., Fitzpatrick earned two degrees at SMU, as he has BBA in management (2022) and a Master of Science in sport management (2024).
