Steve Henderson serves as the head coordinator for eligibility in student-athlete services. In his expanded role, he adds coordination of the undergraduate admissions process for student-athletes as well as liaison to the Office of Residence Life for student-athlete housing needs. In addition to the new duties, Henderson manages transfer eligibility for incoming student-athletes and transcript review. He also tracks cases impacting NCAA GSR and APR data for the department.

A “double Duke,” Henderson obtained his Bachelor of Arts in English and secondary education from JMU in 1988 and added a master’s degree in 1994. He initially served as a teaching assistant and part-time employee in student-athlete services before being hired full-time in university advising in 1996 when athletic advising also fell under that unit. In 1998, student-athlete services moved back to athletics, with Henderson working in that unit leading up to his new role and now in his 28^th year with the department.
