Trent Erdmann is in his first season with the James Madison football program in 2026, as he serves as a player personnel intern.

Erdmann joined the Dukes after spending four seasons at his alma mater on Billy Napier’s staff Florida (2022-25).

Over his final three seasons (2023-25), Erdmann worked as a college personnel assistant for the Gators. He graded and wrote over 850 evaluations for all offensive and defensive positions and created tapes and conducted background research on players for coach and personnel review.

Erdmann also tracked transfer portal activity and relayed information within the organization after vetting available players. He also organized and filmed summer high school camps and hosted prospective student-athletes during official and unofficial visits.

Before moving to the personnel department, he was a student equipment manager at UF in 2022.

In addition to his role at Florida, Erdmann also spent the 2025 season as an external film analyst for the Cleveland Browns. In that role, he was responsible for evaluating and inputting numerous data points per play on select college game film. He projected athletic and mental traits onto an NFL grading scale for receivers, offensive linemen and defensive backs and corresponded with team personnel on weekly assignments and film inquiries.

Erdmann graduated from Florida in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management while minoring in statistics.
